Where should you watch your game at Clearwater Beach?

Most beach bars say little about what's on their screens, so these picks rest only on what each venue publishes as of October 2026. From late February, you can also watch baseball live at Blue Jays spring training in Dunedin.

• NFL Sundays and Monday night: Hogan's Hangout, 499 Mandalay Ave. (727-386-9933), about an 8-minute walk north of Pier 60. Its site claims "29 huge TVs" and promises "your game will be on no matter the sport or network." It doesn't name NFL Sunday Ticket, so call if your team isn't on local or national TV.
• College football Saturday: Hogan's again, since college football tops its list. Toucans Bar and Grill, 431 Mandalay Ave. (727-461-4500), about 5 minutes on foot, advertises "sports games and live bands" without naming leagues. With bands on the bill, ask whether your game gets sound.
• Early Premier League kickoff: no island bar advertises Premier League games. The closest pub that does is Mary Margaret's Olde Irish Tavern, 29 3rd St. N. in downtown St. Petersburg, which promises "live coverage of English Premier League matches" from "early morning kickoffs" and appears on the league's US bar finder. It's roughly 23 road miles and 40 minutes by car. Staying on the beach? Hogan's and Clear Sky Beachside Cafe (490 Mandalay Ave.) both open at 7 a.m. Neither mentions soccer, so ask the night before.
• Sound on for a big game: Irish 31 Seminole (7724 113th St., Seminole), about 12 road miles south, is the only venue in our table that publishes a sound policy: "If there's a big game on, the sound is up on the TVs." It opens at 11 a.m.

What do the bars publish about games, packages and opening times?

Every cell comes from the venue's own website, read on October 5, 2026. Where a site is silent, the cell says "Not stated." We didn't fill gaps from reviews or forums.

Hours change, and none of these venues guarantees a particular game. Call ahead before an early kickoff.

What time are Premier League games in Clearwater?

Clearwater runs on Eastern Time, 5 hours behind the UK for most of the season. The two countries change their clocks on different weekends, so for a few weeks a year the gap shrinks to 4 hours.

Why those dates: GOV.UK puts the UK clock changes on October 25, 2026, and March 28, 2027. NIST lists the US fall-back date as November 1, 2026, and its rule (second Sunday of March) gives March 14, 2027. The only round inside the March window is matchweek 30, which the league still shows at a placeholder time of Saturday, March 20, 3 p.m. UK (11 a.m. in Clearwater) until TV picks are made.

The games that start before a bar can pour

On October 5, 2026, 110 upcoming Premier League games had set kickoff times (through January 7, 2027). Eight of them start before 8 a.m. in Clearwater:

The October gap week moves one early game: Chelsea v Manchester United on Saturday, October 31 (12:30 UK) starts at 8:30 a.m. here, not 7:30. Times can still shift, so check the Premier League fixtures page the week of your match.

How early can a Clearwater bar serve alcohol?

8 a.m., any day of the week, Sunday included. Three layers of law set that hour:

• State default: Florida Statutes section 562.14(1) bans sales and service at licensed premises from midnight to 7 a.m., "except as otherwise provided by county or municipal ordinance." Clearwater has its own rule, so the state default doesn't decide it.
• City rule: Clearwater Code of Ordinances Sec. 6.29 says opening and closing hours "shall be those established by chapter 6, article II, sections 6-29 and 6-30 of the Pinellas County Code."
• County rule: Pinellas County Code Sec. 6-29 requires every business dealing in alcoholic beverages to "remain closed from the hours of 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on each day of the week." Sec. 6-30(d) applies that to bars and restaurants serving drinks on the premises.

That leaves a legal window of 8 a.m. to 3 a.m. We found no separate Sunday rule in either code and no exception for early soccer matches.

Which TV packages should you ask the bar about?

Ask about the package, not just "the game." EverPass Media, which sells streaming sports packages to bars and restaurants, lists these:

• NFL, out-of-market Sunday afternoon games: NFL Sunday Ticket for Business. EverPass says it carries every live out-of-market Sunday afternoon game, but not games on local CBS or FOX, NFL Network or national broadcasts. Bars can buy it through EverPass or DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS.
• Premier League: the league's US broadcaster list names NBC, USA Network, Peacock, Telemundo and Universo, among other NBCUniversal channels. EverPass says Peacock Sports Pass for businesses carries 180+ Premier League matchups, so a bar with only cable may not have your match. The question to ask is "Do you have Peacock?"
• NHL and college sports: according to EverPass, ESPN+ for Business carries 50 exclusive national NHL games and 6 to 12 college football games a week (SEC, Big 12, ACC). Some Big Ten Saturday games are Peacock exclusives.

How do you get back to your hotel after the game?

Hogan's Hangout, Toucans and Clear Sky Beachside Cafe sit on Mandalay Avenue, 5 to 8 minutes on foot from Pier 60. For anything farther, the Jolley Trolley ($2.25 cash fare as of October 2026) covers the island but stops early:

• The South Beach route's last southbound trip leaves Park Street downtown at 9:15 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The route ends for the night at 10:05 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 12:05 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
• The last transfer from the North Beach route to the South Beach route at the Transit Center is 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

None of the bars we checked names it on its website. It's the package that carries out-of-market Sunday afternoon games, and bars buy it through EverPass Media or DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS, so ask for it by name.

What time does the Saturday early Premier League game start in Florida?

7:30 a.m. Eastern for most of the season (12:30 UK). From October 25 to 31, 2026, and March 14 to 27, 2027, the gap is 4 hours, so the same slot starts at 8:30 a.m.

Can I take a drink onto the beach to watch the game on my phone?
