Clearwater Beach itself doesn't have public tennis courts on the island, but Pinellas County has several excellent facilities within a 15-minute drive. Here's the full list with maps.

Lessons & Clinics
McMullen is the main lesson hub — USPTA-certified pros, private lessons ($60–$90/hr), group clinics ($25–$40/session), and junior programs. Book through the McMullen pro shop.
What to Bring
- Racquet (rentals at McMullen for $5)
- Tennis balls (a few extras always)
- Tennis shoes
- Water — Florida heat, always
- Hat + sunscreen
Best Times to Play
- Early morning (7–10 AM): coolest, hardcore regulars out already
- Late afternoon (5–7 PM): lighted courts at McMullen and Sheraton Sand Key
- Midday in summer: avoid — heat index 100+°F is no joke
Staying on the beach and want a quick match without the 15-minute drive? Book Sheraton Sand Key — their free guest courts are the closest legit tennis to Clearwater Beach proper.
